Foundations of Handbuilding — 5-Week Course
Discover the fundamentals of handbuilding in a relaxed, welcoming studio environment. Over five weeks, you'll learn essential clay techniques including pinching, coiling, slab building, joining and simple surface decoration while building confidence with each project.
A collection of templates and project guides will be available throughout the course to help you learn new forms and techniques. You're welcome to follow these step-by-step, or use them as inspiration to create something entirely your own. Creative freedom is always encouraged, allowing you to make pieces that reflect your own style and interests.
Whether you're drawn to functional dinnerware like mugs, bowls, plates, and serving pieces, home décor such as planters, candle holders, and vases, or seasonal and holiday-themed creations, you'll have the flexibility to explore what excites you while developing a strong foundation in clay.
Each session is unhurried and hands-on, centred on the joy of making with clay and enjoying the creative process. Whether you're completely new to pottery or returning after time away, this course offers a supportive space to learn, experiment and create at your own pace.
All materials, tools, glazing, and kiln firings are included.
No experience is necessary—just curiosity and a willingness to create.
